Steel Braid Armored Flex

 

Steel braid armoured cables look a lot like VSD cables, however the braid in these cables is made of galvanised steel which makes this cable very hard to cut compared to VSD cables which use tinned copper.

The main application for Steel Braid Armour is within the factory where you require increased mechanical protection. The principle is similar to a SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) except since the steel is braided into a mesh, so control cable remains flexible.

Steel braid offers some EMC protection to the cable, however because the screen is steel it does not perform as well as our tinned copper screened cables specifically designed for tough EMC installations such as our LAPP ULTRA SCREEN.
