Temposonics New G-Series V:
Reduces downtime and unplanned hydraulic maintenance risks.
Sawmills, timber processing plants and wood manufacturing equipment operate in some of the harshest industrial environments.
Constant vibration, heavy mechanical shock and demanding duty cycles place significant stress on machine components, making reliable position feedback essential to maintaining productivity whilst minimising unplanned downtime. The new Temposonics G-Series V has been developed with these challenges in mind. Combining the proven durability of the original G-Series with the latest R-Series V mechanical platform, it delivers improved vibration resistance, simplified maintenance and backward compatibility for straightforward upgrades.
Temposonics G-Series V
Engineered for High-Vibration Applications
From log handling equipment and debarkers through to hydraulic positioning systems on saw lines, timber processing machinery is subjected to continuous vibration and shock. The G-Series V has been engineered to thrive in these demanding conditions, and will survive the following operating conditions as standard:
- Ingress Protection: IP67
- Temperature Range: -40⁰C to 85⁰C
- Shock and Vibration Resistance: 150g/30g
This enhanced durability helps maintain accurate and reliable position measurement, in applications where conventional sensors can struggle.
Upgrade Existing Systems with Confidence
Replacing sensors in established machinery can often involve costly modifications or lengthy and complex commissioning. The G-Series V is backward compatible with existing digital (PWM and Start/Stop) and analog output versions, allowing maintenance teams and OEMs to upgrade to the latest generation with minimal disruption. Existing systems can benefit from improved performance while avoiding unnecessary redesign work.
Faster Maintenance, Less Downtime
A key advantage of the G-Series V is its rugged, modular construction. The sensing element and electronics can be replaced without breaking the hydraulic cylinder's high-pressure seal, reducing maintenance time and eliminating the risk of hydraulic leaks during servicing.
For timber processors where production uptime is critical, this means:
- Reduced maintenance costs
- Shorter service intervals
- Faster sensor replacement
- Less unplanned downtime
Direct online monitoring and Simplified Configuration with TempoLink® Smart Assistant
The G-Series V is fully compatible with the TempoLink® Smart Assistant, allowing technicians to monitor, configure and fine tune transducer parameters directly from a laptop or PC and monitor from any mobile device. Sensors are supplied with factory-optimised default settings but can be quickly reconfigured to suit changing machine requirements, making commissioning and future maintenance fast and efficient.
Proven Magnetostrictive Technology
At the core of every Temposonics sensor is the company's proprietary magnetostrictive measurement technology.
Because position is measured without physical contact, the transducers have no mechanical wearing parts. The result is long service life, exceptional reliability and maintenance-free operation. Temposonics linear position transducers provide real-time absolute position measurements, eliminating the need for recalibration following power interruptions or system restarts, an important advantage for continuous production environments.
Available Configurations
The Temposonics G-Series V is available in both in-cylinder rod and external machine profile versions with following outputs:
- Analog
- PWM
- Start/Stop
Whether you're upgrading existing equipment in a sawmill or specifying sensors for new timber processing machinery, the G-Series V provides a straightforward migration path to Temposonics' latest sensor platform while maintaining compatibility with existing systems.
