LAPP KNX Cable for Building Automation & Communications
A DIVERSE RANGE OF APPLICATIONS USING ONE STANDARD
KNX is an abbreviation of Konnex and is an international building control standard that enables the integration and programming of a range of products using a single software tool. This technology was formed from the merging of three established European bus standards: EIP, EHS (household appliances and consumer electronics) and Batibus (heating/ventilation/air conditioning)
Since KNX covers such a diversity of applications using one standard, it means that cabling networks can be much simpler. KNX controlled devices are generally based around the standard green KNX/EIB bus cable (i.e. twisted pair) but can be run across Radio Bus (wireless), Ethernet (structured cabling), Fibre Optics and occasionally Power Line.
At ECS we stock LAPP KNX Cable in our Hamilton based distribution centre available online freight-free* at very competitive pricing.
For Building Communications
Intended for automation network systems to carry data signals, manage lighting, blinds and shutters, HVAC, etc in domestic and commercial environments.
For Communication in Building Management
No toxic or corrosive gases are released in a fire, perfect for commercial and industrial environments.
Combination Power/Data Cables for Communication In Building Management
Contains both power and data signal to reduce installation time by only having one cable to run in commercial and industrial environments.
The main advantages of KNX are:
- It is an International Standard and therefore future proof
- Product certification guarantees interoperability and interworking
- Can be used for all applications in home and building control and fit for use within buildings of all types
- Supports several Communication Media
- Can be coupled to other systems
- Is independent from any hardware or software technology
